The Sims 2 No Aging: Cheats and Mods to Turn Aging Off

There are several ways you can accomplish no aging in The Sims 2. Whether you want to play your family as they are forever and never net them age, or if you just want to prevent aging for a short period of time, it’s easy to do with mods or cheats.

So, how do you turn off aging in The Sims 2? Use the “aging off” cheat to turn off aging for ALL Sims. To age Sims manually, use the No Aging Patch. For individual Sims, use Monique’s Individual Aging mod to turn off aging via the Sim menu. To disable aging for an entire age group, use the Anti-Aging controller. 

Here’s a step-by-step guide for using each of these methods in your game.

Aging Off Cheat for ALL SIMS

The simplest method of halting ALL aging for EVERY Sim on a lot is to use the built-in aging off cheat. Here’s how to do it:

1. Press CTRL + SHIFT + C to open the cheat window.
2. Type in “Aging -off” without the quotes.
3. Press enter and then ESC to exit the cheat window.

Now none of your Sims (on this lot) will age at all.

To turn aging back on, repeat the steps above but this time type in “Aging -on” without the quotes. Your Sims will begin aging normally again.

NOTE: This cheat prevents you from aging your Sims up at all – even manually – while it is in effect. If you want to age Sims up at your leisure, use Inge’s No Aging Patch below.

NOTE #2: This cheat only works on the lot you’ve used it on. It turns aging off for ALL SIMS ON THE LOT. If you move to another lot, you’ll need to activate it again. Thanks to Sunrader Sims for this correction!

No Aging Patch for Manual Individual Aging

If you want to turn off aging for ALL Sims and age them up individually whenever you choose, get this patch from Inge/Simlogical.

To sum it up:

“This is not the same as the aging-off cheat, because the aging-off cheat stops you ageing your sims up at all, whereas this patch leaves you able to age them by any of the available means, they just won’t get older automatically.   Also does not affect the course of pregnancy and childbirth.”

I also recommend downloading the Arbitrary Grade Suppression Fix to prevent children’s and teen’s school grades from getting screwed up when they aren’t aging. You can find this fix listed directly below the Patch download on Simlogical.

Individual Aging Mod for INDIVIDUAL SIMS

This is the mod I personally use to control aging in my game. It’s easy to use and allows you to control aging from the Sim menu by simply clicking on an individual Sim.

The only downside I’ve found is it’s easy to turn off aging accidentally without realizing it (as you’ve probably seen in my videos).

There are several different versions of Monique’s Individual Aging Mod – one for the Nightlife expansion created in 2006 by Monique, another for OFB also created by Monique, and another that’s been updated for Apartment Life on Simbology.

Which one should you download? Here’s a handy chart to help you decide:

After downloading and installing the mod, simply click on any Sim and choose “Aging ON or OFF” depending on your needs. That’s all there is to it!

NOTE: Entering the “Aging -OFF” cheat in the cheat window will disable the Individual Aging Mod and the option to turn aging on/off from the Sim menu will no longer be available. If you don’t see the option, make sure you have aging turned ON in the cheat window.

Anti-Aging Controller for AGE GROUPS

This mod is an object that appears in game – the Electronic Alarm Clock model – that allows you to turn off aging for an entire age group. Just want to turn aging off for toddlers or elders, etc? This is the mod you need.

The latest version of this mod – updated in 2007 – is compatible with Bon Voyage. I downloaded and tried it in-game with the Ultimate Collection and it seemed to work fine. But I will have to place a disclaimer here: USE AT YOUR OWN RISK.

I only tested long enough to see if the object would show up and turn aging off, which it did. I’m not sure how it will behave after playing for longer periods of time. I also did not try out the Inteen-compatible versions because I don’t use Inteen.

Download the Anti-Aging Controller from Mod the Sims. There are several version available. Choose the one that corresponds to your highest expansion pack. If you have the Ultimate Collection, choose the Bon Voyage version (unless you use Inteen, then choose the PETS version).

Once in the game, you’ll find the controller under Electronics > Misc. Place it down anywhere on your lot and select the age group you want to stop aging for. Remember, the object MUST stay on the lot to work. Delete it and aging goes back to normal.
