I Fixed The Sims 4 Base Game Stories ~ Save File Download

One of my biggest complaints with The Sims 4 is the complete lack of attention to the game lore. It’s like they just created a bunch of random Sims with no thought to their backstories or relationships to each other – or even their relationship to the previous games. And don’t even get me started with what they did to the Calientes.

As a Sims Player since the days of The Sims 1, and a lover of the pre-mades, this is one the most important aspects of the game for me. So I fixed it and gave these Sims the stories and relationships that they deserve.

This may not fix the myriad of other problems with gameplay (object babies, no real emotions, no attraction system, no way to make your own world, no cars, poorly done skintones) but at least if anyone WANTS to play the Sims 4, you can play it with a proper backstory.

UPDATES

09/25/2020 – I have updated the Base Game Save File with the following changes:

• Iggy Pancakes has been added to the Pancakes household.
• J Huntington III is romantically involved with both Nina and Dina Caliente, and good friends with Don Lothario.
• Nancy and Geoffrey Landgraab are both in level 7 of the Business careers (They both were level 7 in their careers in The Sims 3.) Nancy went in the Management Branch and Geoffrey went in the Investor Branch.

09/25/2020 – I have made the following change to the Get to Work Save File:

• Don Lothario now works in the Medical Career as an Intern.

Willow Creek

A verdant, sprawling region of lush bayous and rolling plantation land that is home to aristocratic farmers, southern gentry, and swamp-dwellers. Willow Creek is a diverse blend of rich tradition, understated grandeur and true salt-of-the-earth hospitality.

BFF Household

Free spirit Liberty, cheerful Summer, and geeky Travis are unlikely friends, and nothing can come between these three. Except perhaps the growing feelings both Summer and Liberty have for Travis…

• Summer and Liberty both have a crush on Travis
• Travis has a crush on both (no one-sided relationships in Sims 4)
• All three BFFs are friends with each other
• I also gave them some friendships from within the world:
  • Summer is friends with Eliza Pancakes
  • Travis is friends with Bob Pancakes
  • Liberty is friends with Alice Spencer-Kim

Goth Household

The Goths are an aristocratic family with a dreary aura. Between Mortimer writing macabre stories and Bella’s mysterious disappearances will Cassandra and Alexander grow up to be gloomy, too?

• Fixed Bella and Cassandra’s Skin Tones
• Changed Bella to Adult (from Young Adult)
• Changed Bella’s Aspiration to Soulmate (Romance)
• Changed Cassandra’s Aspiration to Big Happy Family
• Changed Alex’s eyebrow color to black
• Alexander Goth is friends with Olive Spencer-Kim-Lewis

Pancakes Household

Poor, poor Bob and Eliza – have they ever been happy? It seems there’s nothing one can do to please the other. Just what is keeping this couple together? Or, conversely, what is the spark that will finally drive them apart?

• Decreased relationship, so their marriage is actually on the rocks as implied
• Gave them some friendships in the world
  • Bob is friends with Travis Scott
  • Eliza is friends with Summer Holiday

Spencer-Kim-Lewis Family

Okay, here’s the breakdown: Dennis Kim and Lydia Spencer had a daughter named Alice Spencer-Kim, then divorced. Alice married Eric Lewis and had her own little girl, Olivia Kim-Lewis. They live with Alice’s dad (Dennis, remember?) and Eric’s mom, Vivian Lewis. Hey, no one ever said family was easy!

• Gave Eric a job in the Business Career (Level 3)
• Dennis is now a retired Hedge Fund Manager (Level 8 business investor)
• Gave them some friendships in the world
  • Alice is friends with Liberty Lee
  • Olivia is friends with Alexander Goth
• Vivian and Dennis have a crush on each other

Oasis Springs

An oasis nestled in the austere beauty of the western desert, this haven of eclectic culture is fringed by countless soaring palms, and lent vibrant color through impossibly lush landscaping. Oasis Springs offers relaxing retreats from the sun to any traveler who discovers it.

Landgraab Family

The Landgraabs seem like the perfect family; wealthy, well-mannered, brilliant. But Nancy and Geoffrey are each hiding something. Will their secrets tear them apart or will they continue to build a wealthy dynasty?

• Changed Both Nancy (Level 4 Assistant Manager) and Geoffrey (Level 5 Regional Manager) to Business Career
• Changed Malcolm from Evil to Good and changed his Aspiration to Fabulously Wealthy
• Added Johnny Zest to the family tree as Nancy and Geoffrey’s child, but changed their relationship to slight enemies
• Johnny is now acquaintances with his brother Malcolm

Roomies Household

This household seems to have stepped right out of a TV sitcom. What wacky misadventures will the perky Zoe, easygoing Mitchell, uptight ladies’ man J, and intellectual Gavin suffer this week? Tune in and find out!

• Gave them some relationships
  • Zoe has a crush on Johnny Zest
  • Mitchell is close to being friends with Johnny Zest
  • Made them all friends with each other

Zest Family

Johnny Zest has the stage name and the dream, but maybe not the talent… Disowned by the Landgraabs for quitting school, Johnny wants to make his own fame and fortune as a standup comedian.

• Added Johnny to Landgraab Family Tree – enemies with his parents and barely knows his brother
• Friends with Zoe Patel and close to being friends with Mitchell Kalani
• Johnny has a slight crush on Zoe Patel

Caliente Family

It’s no longer girls-only now that Caliente matriarch Katrina has moved in her mooching boy toy, Don. With three fiery, attractive ladies in the house, will Don remain faithful or will he get involved with more than one Caliente woman?

• Changed Katrina’s name to Nighat, changed her appearance to match her Sims 2 version and made her an elder
• Completely remade Nina and Dina to make them look more similar to their Sims 2 appearances – including darker skintones.
• Completely made over Don to make him look similar to his Sims 2 appearance.
• Don and Nighat are now romantic interests.
• Don is romantically involved with both Nina and Dina.

How to Install the Save File

1. Download the save file from the links above – choose from base game or GTW versions. 
2. Unzip and place the file in your Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 > Saves folder. 
3. If it says you already have a file with the same name, change the slot number to something else.
4. Open the game and choose “Load Game.”
5. The save will show up as Sims 4 Fixed (Base) or Sims 4 Fixed (GTW), depending on which one you downloaded.
6. Load the game and have fun!
